Candialle Ciclope a blend of merlot and sangiovese, supported by syrah and petite verdot, produced by a Finnish and German couple in Tuscany. It also just so happens to be organically farmed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in neutral vessels to let the wine stand on its own, much like a natural wine.
It is big, rich, deep, and delicious. And an incredible value. I fell in love with it, and knew instantly that I had to write it up and share with customers.
One important note, it is not acidic, as is typical for many Italian wines. This makes for a great entry to Italian wine if you don’t have the palate for acidity that can be common in many Italian wines.
It has the power to pair with foods ranging from big meat dishes and stews to rich pastas. Or just drink it on its own and love it!
