Aged 12 years and finished in red wine hogsheads, this cask strength release (60.6% ABV) showcases a burnished rose-gold hue and remarkable depth of character. The influence of the wine cask layers richness and spice onto the mature malt, resulting in a whisky that is both vibrant and indulgent.
The nose opens with glazed cherries, cinnamon spice, poached orchard fruits, honeycomb, and sweet molasses, lifted by a touch of eucalyptus. On the palate, flavors of bramble jam, rich mocha, heather honey, candied apple, and baking spice unfold, anchored by notes of black cherries. The finish is long and harmoniously balanced, with fruit and spice lingering gracefully.
