Description
The label may say 15 year old Bourbon, but those of us in the know understand the number on the bottle in the case of the Widow Jane releases is merely the minimum.
Widow Jane’s 15 year expressions from the company vaults often utilize Bourbons of up to 20 years of age in their annual releases, which is what makes them unbelievably layered and complex.
Rich and oaky on the palate with huge flavors of vanilla and dark chocolate, the 15+ year old releases from Widow Jane have long commanded prices of $250 or higher based entirely on the dearth of mature American whiskey on the market.
The 2024 release is a marriage of 15 year Bourbons aged in Brazilian Amburana casks that is as creamy and round as any Bourbon we’ve tasted this year.
We have limited quantities of each at the moment and, considering our nation-low pricing, we don’t expect them to hang around for long. 15 year old Bourbon is still at a premium, but we’re pleased to see the prices coming back down to reality (albeit slowly).
